The forest ground has vital wisdom for us
We are Mycelium Lab, a consulting agency for systemic change.
We work with brave organizations, governments, and companies, co-creating new ways to respond to the complex social and ecological challenges of our times.

Decoloniality in Action:
We work in ways that honor and reclaim our ancestral wisdom. We centralize other-ways-of-knowing, as well as the voices of those who are usually excluded from vital conversations.
Systemic Change:
We work from a deep respect for systemic dynamics, with a myriad of practices that allow us to work intentionally with every project’s true complexity and interconnection dynamics.
Participatory & Inclusive:
Gone are the days of relying on the expert-outside-the-room. Our work is to activate all of the diverse wisdom in the room. It is this collective intelligence what guides the way forward in our projects.
Biomimetic & Earth-centric:
We work with nature as our greatest teacher, inspiration and collaborator for approaching all kinds of challenges wisely. This approach inevitably invites us all into a new dimension of co-creation and systemic wisdom.
Experiential Learning:
We work with a pedagogy of wholeness. Our work helps us all access our sharp minds, but also the depth and vision of the heart, the intuitive fire in our gut, the systemic wisdom of our bodies.
Creative, Emergent & Joyful:
Creativity, play, joy, awe - are not frivolous elements but vital for any wholesome, decolonial, and systemic change. They are an important source of the vitality we lack and show us the path to new possible realities to discover.
Are you looking for transformative ways to reshape your work? We partner with forward-thinking organizations, collectives, schools, and governments who are navigating the complex challenges of our time. We help you work with the complexity you face in ways that are wholesome, participatory, effective and surprising.
Every project is a unique process, with specific needs and varying potential pathways. Sometimes it looks like helping teams co-create new processes or structures inside their organization. Sometimes it is wide and vast & includes articulating a network of many different kinds of actors across a system- like a project where we are co-creating living strategies to foster climate justice for indigenous communities. There are no recipes for these challenges as there are no recipes for these times. Whatever it is that you are tending, with Mycelium Lab we become your partners in developing and testing new strategies to bring your system back to vitality and wholeness.

Are you looking for support in growing into the kind of leadership you want to practice? Or are you facing a new complex challenge that could benefit from you connecting to your intuition and wisdom as a leader?
In these Mycelic Leadership sessions we hold a safe space for you to connect with the wisdom and transformative magic of your own wisdom. Through resources like somatic work, art therapy, and deep listening, we respectfully hold space for you to show up to the personal transformations your work is asking from you. These times are asking us all to grow in ways that often seem paradoxical, and as the mycelium teaches us, none of us can do it alone.

Together we’ll discover the wise way forward!
Who we are
I’m a Mexican woman with Palestinian and Lebanese roots. I have spent my entire career searching for regenerative ways to create learning spaces and learning about how we transform our systems. Initially, I was moved by the question, "How would we now design our learning systems if the current design of “schooling” had never existed?" It was a wild and beautiful ride. Which eventually led me to a new question, “How can we unlearn the internalized structures that keep our current systems alive so we can become who we need to be to birth radically more respectful and intentional systems?” This quest has led me to collaborate with amazing people and organizations in places as varied as Chile, Finland, Mexico, Costa Rica, United States, Panama, Japan, the Netherlands, Denmark & Germany.
At Mycelium Lab I bring my exquisite eye for deep human processes and transformative learning to help us create the systemic change we seek, from deep and rooted places inside ourselves.
Master of Arts in Mind, Brain & Education - Harvard University, on full scholarship.
Co-founder of Magic Department, a consulting agency in facilitation and experiential learning design in Helsinki, Finland.
10+ years of experience working as a Consultant in Experiential Pedagogies, Transformative Learning, and Unlearning.
Citizen of the world with Yucatecan Maya roots. I grew up between two worlds: learning "science" and English in a private school and in my working-class neighborhood surrounded by conversations in Maya between my great-grandparents. From a young age, I felt the urge to question inequalities, which led me to become a Lawyer specialized in Human Rights. After representing victims of serious human rights violations for almost a decade, the limitations of the law led me to explore the world in search of holistic approaches to social and ecological justice. I discovered that at the root of these challenges is a fragmentation of the self, of communities, and of nature. And that just like in nature, interconnection is the antidote.
At Mycelium Lab, I merge my legal experience, ecosocial design, and my Mayan heritage to address complex issues with systemic and transformative approaches.

"Finding professionals like Dorothy and Samantha -who can combine knowledge and experience with emotional and spiritual maturity - is incredibly valuable in the work for social, racial, climate, and gender justice. Working with them has been a tremendous pleasure because they really embody what they believe, and they act from there. The technical quality of their work is exceptional, and they infuse it with soul, wisdom, and care. The warmth, professionalism, and guidance from Mycelium Lab have been fundamental to the success of our project. Which included the creation of an Amicus - which centralized the voices and needs of indigenous peoples, women, and girls - for the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. I highly recommend working with them to experience the transformative power of their ideas, knowledge, and methodologies for a sustained social change, and to feel how projects are filled with soul and heart." alma y corazón.
"Samantha and Dorothy managed, in a unique way, to generate a space for horizontal learning through the exchange of experiences and the connection between the intellectual, the somatic, and the emotional. A space where each person contributed from their experience and wisdom. Where no role was considered less important than the other, generating a lasting bond among the participants. The methodology was very dynamic, practical, and fun, without losing the rigor of theoretical aspects. The shared planning and execution of the workshops were very enjoyable and carried out collectively and participatively. I would definitely recommend them!"
"I was remembering moments that moved me a lot during the process. Like when I could see the motivation, creativity, and knowledge that awakened in the group when we didn't approach them in a vertical way. It was amazing, we simply provided the space and context for things to happen and move from within the group.
Inside our organization, we have been putting in practice the methodologies we learned from working with you! Thanks to you we are starting to create an organic democratization of learning of these types of practices, which are vital for sustained and inclusive social change."
"Thanks to our work with Samantha and Dorothy, we were able to articulate various women from different organizations. It was a great achievement for all because the participants did not feel that something was imposed on them, but rather, we created something, which was a true collective construction.
Also, a personal achievement was everything I learned from their methodologies that I’m now applying in my role as a teacher. I found in our work a very effective mechanism to bring feelings and emotions into how the law impacts us."
